Every Super Bowl From the 2010s, Ranked Worst to Best

The Super Bowl is one of the greatest and most anticipated games in all of sports. Since 1967, the annual game is consistently one of the most watched game in the world. Now, let us rank each game from this past decade, from worst to best!

10. Super Bowl 50: Panthers vs. Broncos

Super Bowl 50 was a very anticipated game back in 2015. The #1 offense led by Cam Newton was facing the #1 defense led by Von Miller. However, the game was not what fans expected it to be. Neither offenses were good on this Sunday, with only 301 total passing yards between both teams.

Cam Newton was harassed all day, and fans were not able to see the MVP’s actual ability. The Broncos defense was the only light in this game, and set up a lot of the points for the Broncos offense. The 15-1 Panthers didn’t play with any enthusiasm, and were not a threat during any point of the game.

Final Score: Broncos win 24-10

9. Super Bowl 48: Seahawks vs. Broncos

Similar to 2015, this 2013 matchup featured the number 1 offense and the number 1 defense. However, this game was never at one point in the Broncos hands. The first snap of the game was a botched snap and safety for the Seahawks.

The Legion of Boom was in there prime at this game, and showed no mercy to the Broncos. The Seahawks routed the Broncos and ended up winning by 35 points.

Final Score: Seahawks win 43-8

8. Super Bowl 53: Patriots vs. Rams

For the first time of many, the Patriots appear on this list. They faced the short-lived Rams, who were a one-hit wonder in 2018. They went 13-3, and had a very explosive offense with Goff, Gurley, and their dominant trio of receivers.

If this list has proved anything, it is that #1 offenses don’t fare well in Super Bowls. The trend continued here, as the Rams best offense scored just one Field Goal in the entire game. Both offenses were poor in this game, but the defenses made this a somewhat watchable game.

Final Score: Patriots win 13-3

7. Super Bowl 45: Packers vs. Steelers

The first Super Bowl in the 2010s featured prime Aaron Rodgers and Ben Roethlisberger. The final score may have been close, but the actual game was not an image of it.

Green Bay jumped out to an early 14-0 start in the first quarter, and led 21-10 at half time. The Packers maintained a lead the entire game, and were in full control. The Steelers had a poor performance, and gave Rodgers his 1 and only Super Bowl ring & Super Bowl MVP.

Final Score: Packers win 31-25

6. Super Bowl 54: Chiefs vs. 49ers

This star-studded game featured rising star Patrick Mahomes and the 49ers loaded rushing offense and defense was one for the ages. Both teams put on a show with a total of 648 yards.

The game was very average from the start, but turned out to be one of the best comebacks in history. With 10 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter, the Chiefs came back down from 10 and ended up winning by 11 points. This next decade will see a lot of Patrick Mahomes, as he becomes the face of the NFL.

Final Score: Chiefs win 31-20

5. Super Bowl 47: Ravens vs. 49ers

For the first time ever, the opposing coaches were brothers, as Jim Harbaugh led the 49ers, and John Harbaugh led the Ravens. Jim is now the head coach of Michigan’s football team, and John remains the head coach of the Ravens, the #1 seed in the AFC.

This game had everything. A great halftime performance, a great game, and even a power outage. The Ravens came out with a 28-6 lead. The Ravens lost their momentum after the power outage, but still won a classic by a mere 3 points. You can’t ask for much more in a Super Bowl.

Final Score: Ravens win 34-31

4. Super Bowl 46: Giants vs. Patriots

This 2011 matchup was one of 2 times the Giants defeated Tom Brady in the Super Bowl. However, this team was significantly worse. The 9-7 Giants snuck into the playoffs. Like the 2019 Titans, the Giants made a run in the playoffs as a wild card, but actually won the Super Bowl.

The Giants scored a game winning TD in the final minute of the game, and became the team with the least wins to win a Super Bowl. New York is responsible for 2 of the 3 losses in Brady’s Super Bowl career.

Final Score: Giants win 21-17

3. Super Bowl 49: Patriots vs. Seahawks

Almost every one of the Patriot Super Bowls was due to Tom Brady, but his defense saved him this time. The Seahawks were coming off a 43-8 win in the previous Super Bowl, and were looking to repeat with their rising star Russel Wilson.

Jermaine Kearse made a miraculous juggling catch on the sideline, but to no avail. The catch set the Seahawks in the red-zone. The Seahawks ran their way to the 1 yard line, but made the notorious call of passing the ball. Malcolm Butler picked off Wilson on the 1 yard line, and the rest is history.

2. Super Bowl 52: Eagles vs. Patriots

The only other team to beat Brady in a Super Bowl beside the Giants is the Philadelphia Eagles. Carson Wentz led his team to a first round bye, before getting hurt late in the regular season. With the help of his defense, receiving core, and rushing game, Nick Foles was able to lead the Eagles to the Super Bowl and win.

This was anything but a low scoring game, as the Eagles scored a total of 41 points. This Super Bowl was famously known for the great Philly Special, where Nick Foles caught a TD. Brady had one of his best performances ever, but the Patriots were unable to stop Nick Foles and co.

1. Super Bowl 51: Patriots vs. Falcons

Arguably the greatest Super Bowl of all time, and definitely the greatest Super Bowl of the decade. Super Bowl 51 was the only Super Bowl to go to overtime. Matt Ryan was the MVP of the league in 2016, and was playing the best football of his life.

The Falcons started off hot and played like they were all year. They had a pick-6 on Brady, a couple offensive TDs, and were up 28-3 in the 3rd quarter. The Patriots proceeded to pull off the greatest comeback in NFL history, scoring 25 points unanswered, and sending the game to OT. The Patriots won the coin toss in OT, and marched all the way downfield. They capped off the win with a rushing TD from James White!

Final Score: Patriots win 34-28
