After one of the best free agencies this decade, many great players remain on the market. After players started holding out in the NFL, teams have been quick to sign their star players in attempts to prevent a hold out. Now, we take a look at the best free agents that have surprisingly not been signed.
1. Cam Newton
After being cut by the Carolina Panthers due to many injuries, Cam is left on the market and is still unsigned. Cam has proved to be a great QB, but teams are having trust issues because of previous injuries. He is a 30 year old star that can make a big impact on the field.
2. Jadeveon Clowney
The former first overall pick didn’t have the greatest season in 2019, having only 3 sacks. However, he was still a difference maker that caused a lot of pressure to opposing QBs. He has proven to be a dominant edge rusher, with 9+ sacks in previous years.
3. Jason Peters
Jason Peters was one of the top OTs in the league with Philadelphia, before getting injured multiple times. When Peters is healthy, he is a very strong and physical OT that can hold elite edge rushers in the NFL. He is a high risk, high reward signing.
4. Logan Ryan
In his tenure with the Titans, Ryan was one of the best CBs in the league. He was able to line up against Hopkins 2 times a year, and play well against one of the leagues best receivers. He can completely change a team’s secondary, and deserves to be signed soon.
5. Carlos Hyde
This free agency didn’t have the best RBs available on the market, but Hyde is the best RB remaining on the market. He can be a RB1 for a lot of teams, especially after his 1000 yard season with Houston in 2019.
6. Michael Bennett
When the Legion of Boom was in its prime, so was Bennett. He has not been the same pass rusher since his Super Bowl seasons with the Seahawks, but can be a dominant edge rusher who can still rack up 8+ sacks.
7. Markus Golden
Yes, another edge rusher on this list. Golden played lights out with the Giants last year, recording 10 sacks. Golden will make an immediate impact wherever he signs.
8. Prince Amukamara
Prince has been on the market quite a few times during his career. He spent the last 3 years with Chicago, and recorded 3 interceptions in 2018. However, he had no interceptions in 2019, which is a bit of a concern. Prince can be a starting corner on a lot of teams, but is not as elite as he was back with the Giants from 2011-2015.
