Many young NFL stars are starting to transform the league today. These players have evolved franchises, taking them from pretenders to contenders.
Today, I will pick 5 players to build an NFL franchise around for the next 10 years.

1. Patrick Mahomes
In just two seasons as a starter, Mahomes has been to an AFC Championship in one and won the Super Bowl in the other. He has been the NFL’s MVP and Super Bowl MVP. 76 Tds and 9,000+ yards in just 2 years. The 24 year old is rising as potentially the greatest player of all time. This pick is as easy as it gets.
2. Russell Wilson
Russell Wilson is the oldest player on this list, but has the durability to play a successful 10 more years in the NFL. Wilson is extremely efficient, shown by his 32 TDs and only 5 INTs in 2019.
The 6x Pro Bowler and 1x Super Bowl Champ would be unstoppable with a franchise built around him. Even if Wilson doesn’t last a full 10 years, you can guarantee a very accomplished 6-8 years likely including a Super Bowl ring.
3. Christian McCaffrey
As hard as it is to build a franchise around a non-QB, it is impossible to pass on CMC here. The best RB in football has played behind a terrible Panthers offensive line and a backup QB, but managed to record 1,000 receiving and rushing yards.
McCaffrey is one of the most elusive, strongest, and fastest players in the NFL. With a well-built franchise around him, CMC could be one of the greatest RBs of all time.
4. Deshaun Watson
Watson has not performed to his maximum capability, and the Texans are all to blame for it. Watson is constantly running for his life playing behind a horrendous offensive line. He does not have an elite RB, and Houston traded away the best WR in football.
Watson is arguably the best playmaking QB in the league right now, and would be a great talent to have for the next 10 years. Can you imagine Deshaun Watson playing in a stable franchise?
5. Kyler Murray
The 2019 Rookie of the Year is possibly the next rising star in the NFL. Murray already has the 8th highest MVP odds entering his sophomore season. With his new team including DeAndre Hopkins and a very loaded defense, the Cardinals have very high expectations next season.
The Cardinals are building around Kyler Murray very well, and will show us in the next 10 years why he deserves to be on this list.
