Rob Gronkowski Traded to the Buccaneers

Earlier today, Rob Gronkowski was talking about the possibility of playing with Tom Brady on the Buccaneers. It also became reality, as Gronkowski is now a Buc.

The Patriots are trading Gronk and a 7th round pick for a Buccaneer 4th round pick. Gronk had one-year, $10 million left on his contract.

He told the Patriots he wanted to play again, and that he wanted to play with the Bucs super team. The Patriots allowed it.

Gronk retired after the Patriots Super Bowl winning season in 2018, but still had a contract with the Patriots.

Gronkowski said before the trade, “I’m feeling good right now, I’m happy where I’m at. You just never know, man. You just never know. I’m not totally done… but I gotta get that feeling back.”

He has also been putting on weight for a return to football. Both the Bucs and Gronk wanted each other. The relationship between Brady and Gronk is unbeleivable, as Gronk came out of retirement for his old friend and QB.

He has hinted many times that he could come out of retirement. After all, he is only 30 years old. With the Patriots, he had 7,681 yards on 521 passes, and 79 TDs. He was a 5-time Pro Bowler and a 3-time Super Bowl champ. He was a great TE, possibly the greatest, and has a chance to add to his career.

The Bucs current offense:

  • QB: Tom Brady
  • RB: Ronald Jones
  • WR: Mike Evans
  • WR: Chris Godwin
  • TEs: O.J. Howard and Rob Gronkowski

The already Super Bowl contenders just increased their chances to win the Super Bowl. The Bucs have the ability to be the best team of the decade
